White House aides reaffirm public option is not mandatory
The television airwaves were filled Sunday with rat-a-tat over reforming the nation's health-care system, as top administration officials hit the talk show circuit and interest groups waged a record advertising blitz. President Obama's team, preparing for an intense round of private negotiations on Capitol Hill, used public appearances to set the parameters for the negotiations. ultra tall ugg boots Obama continues to support the concept of a government-sponsored insurance option, but "he is not demanding that it is in" the final legislation, Valerie Jarrett, a senior White House adviser, said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "He thinks it's the best possible choice." White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, in two television appearances, noted that the public option could provide much-needed competition, but that "it's not the defining piece of health care." Liberal lawmakers such as Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), who is involved in the negotiations, said they will push for the government option to be included in the bill that goes to the Senate floor. "I haven't given up on this," Dodd said on NBC. ugg boots Advocacy groups also pressed the case in television and print ads. In one spot airing on several networks, the liberal coalition Health Care for America Now calls out "huge insurance companies driving prices up." "We need real competition to lower costs," the commercial concludes. "We need the choice of a public health insurance option." Obama aides conceded that they may not have the votes in the Senate for the provision. "There are people in the Senate -- Republicans and Democrats -- who have objections to that," senior White House adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week." ultra short ugg boots The notion of a public insurance alternative has divided Democrats for months. It remains a major sticking point, though it would affect only the fraction of Americans who work in small businesses or buy their coverage. Proponents argue that a nonprofit plan with lower administrative fees and executive salaries could provide more-affordable coverage. Industry leaders and some lawmakers in both parties fear it would lead to a government-run health system and would force private companies out of business. As Obama has inched closer to enacting his top legislative priority, his allies and the insurance industry have grown increasingly hostile. Administration aides lambasted the industry after it released two reports last week that said private insurance premiums would probably increase under the bills circulating in Congress. "Most of the stakeholders in this health-care debate are at the table, they're trying to produce real reform," Axelrod said. "The insurance industry has decided now at the eleventh hour that they don't want to go along with this. One of the problems we have is we have a health-care system now that functions very well for the insurance industry but not well for the customers." bailey button ugg boots Asked whether Obama has been "tough enough" in his first year in office, Axelrod replied: "The president in his radio address took on the insurance industry, at least rhetorically, and he suggested that he might be willing to take away their antitrust exemption." The health-care battle will be tested this week in the Senate, as Democrats push a bill that would set aside nearly $250 billion over the next decade for higher Medicare payments to physicians. The reimbursement rates are scheduled for automatic reductions. But each year, Congress overrides the formula that would trim fees by 21 percent in 2010. Fixing the payment gap is of enormous concern to the American Medical Association, but lawmakers have yet to find the money to pay for it. Obama and Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) kept the provision out of health-care reform legislation, saying it is something Congress would do regardless of broader reform. But Republicans and some Democratic deficit hawks object. "This is so transparent," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). "They're taking this issue out of health care, suggesting that we spend a quarter of a trillion dollars, not pay for it, so that they can then argue, the very next week potentially, that this trillion-dollar health-care bill is paid for." classic cardy ugg boots In between the talk show chatter, the AMA weighed in with an ad. "For seniors, a doctor can mean everything -- independence, hope, security -- and Medicare makes it possible," the narrator says. "We need a permanent solution to protect Medicare and ensure seniors get the security and stability they've earned." (Article source:http://www.washingtonpost.com) ugg tasmina sandals Notes: Obama Team Continues Effort to Isolate Fox News Senior Obama administration officials took to the airwaves Sunday to accuse Fox News of pushing a particular point of view, one week after the administration fired its initial salvo to try to isolate the news network by accusing it of being a GOP mouthpiece. "A lot of their news programming, it's really not news. It's pushing a point of view," senior adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week." "The way we -- the president looks at it and we look at it, is, it is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective," White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel added on CNN's "State of the Union." classic mini ugg boots The open assault on Fox News began last weekend when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn accused the network of being a "wing of the Republican Party." "What I think is fair to say about Fox -- and certainly it's the way we view it -- is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party," Dunn said on CNN. "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is." Despite calls to the White House this week, the administration did not offer a guest for this weekend's "Fox News Sunday" to talk about Dunn's comments, although administration officials appeared on all four Sunday morning shows to speak on various issues. ugg tasmina braid sandals President Obama has had interviews with all of the other Sunday talk shows except "Fox News Sunday," including a whirlwind weekend in late September where he appeared on all other Sunday talk shows. Michael Clemente, Fox News' senior vice president of news, said the administration's strategy appears to be misdirected. "Surprisingly, the White House continues to declare war on a news organization instead of focusing on the critical issues that Americans are concerned about like jobs, health care and two wars. The door remains open and we welcome a discussion about the facts behind the issues," Clemente said in a written statement. Former Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove said Fox News' commentators have been tough on Obama but the White House appears to be confusing the news and opinion that appears on the network. classic short ugg boots "They're conflating the news side and the opinion side in order to -- in order to attack a media outlet. Again, it's undignified for the president of the United States to be doing" Rove said on "Fox News Sunday." He added that it is the administration's practice to attack its critics full-throttle. "I think this White House is dominated by Chicago- style politics, so if you don't like the questions that are being asked by Major Garrett or Wendell Goler or Chris Wallace, then you try and demonize Fox News," he said. ugg fluff flip flop Though Fox News has won the cable news ratings race consistently for years and is closing in on network news numbers, Axelrod and Emanuel both encouraged other news outlets to not treat Fox News as a news organization. "The bigger thing is that other news organizations, like yours, ought not to treat them that way, and we're not going to treat them that way." Axelrod told ABC. Axelrod was quick to point out that though the White House views Fox News as biased, the administration would continue to interact with Fox News. "We're going to appear on their shows. We're going to participate, but understanding that they represent a point of view." classic tall ugg boots "President Obama's going to talk to all the networks," said former Clinton adviser and administration confidant Terry McAuliffe, who appeared with Rove on Fox News. "He's going to go out there. He loves competition. He loves being engaged in the battle." (Article source:http://www.foxnews.com/) Another note: White House Presses on Health Care WASHINGTON -- Administration officials on Sunday pushed back against opponents of the health-care bill, seeking to maintain momentum for the measure as criticism continued from both Republicans and Democrats. Administration officials hit out at insurance companies and their Republican allies over what they described as their efforts to undermine the legislation in recent days. The officials reiterated comments by President Barack Obama Saturday hinting at the possibility of limiting or revoking health insurers' antitrust exemption, if they were to continue to fight the legislation. infant erin ugg boots At the same time, administration officials held out the possibility of further compromise with labor unions, which are upset about a proposed tax on high-cost health-insurance plans. Union leaders worry that many of their members' plans could be hit by such a tax. The White House wants to ensure progress continues on its plan to overhaul the nation's health-care system, following the Senate Finance Committee's vote last week in support of health legislation. The Senate must now meld several versions of the bill in the chamber before bringing the measure to the floor for a vote. The Senate bill would then have to be reconciled with a House health-care bill. "There's a fundamental belief on the Hill that ¡ we can't fail now," White House political adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week." He added: "We're going to solve it. There will be compromise, there will be legislation and it will achieve our goals." nightfall ugg boots In his Saturday address, Mr. Obama suggested that insurers' federal antitrust exemption could be at risk if they continued to fight the legislation. He said insurers have been making profits "while enjoying a privileged exception from our antitrust laws, a matter that Congress is rightfully reviewing." The industry's exemption from federal antitrust laws has allowed some individual companies to dominate in certain markets. Critics believe that has contributed to a rapid rise in health-care costs in those markets. Last week, the Senate Judiciary committee held a hearing on the issue of limiting health insurers' antitrust exemption. tall metallic ugg boots Asked on Sunday about possible changes to the exemption, Mr. Axelrod stopped short of saying the White House favored such a step. But he said the White House supported provisions in the House health-care legislation that would limit the amount that insurers could spend on administrative and other, non-health-care costs. Administration officials on Sunday also pushed back against an insurance industry study last week that said the Senate Finance Committee health bill would raise premiums significantly for millions of people who already have health coverage, saying premiums would rise rapidly without changes to the system. In his weekend address, Mr. Obama described the health insurers' criticisms of the proposal as "smoke and mirrors." short metallic ugg boots He cast the health-care legislation as a test of American resolve. The legislation "will make a profound and positive difference in the lives of the American people," Mr. Obama said. "But it also now represents something more: whether or not we as a nation are capable of tackling our toughest challenges, if we can serve the national interest despite the unrelenting efforts of the special interests; if we can still do big things in America." ugg amelie suede sandals Meanwhile, some Senate Democrats suggested that they were open to compromise over what is arguably the toughest issue in the health-care debate: whether to offer a government-run insurance option. On "Fox News Sunday," Sen. Kent Conrad (D., N.D.) said he could support a public option that doesn't tie reimbursement rates -- what the government would pay health-care providers for procedures -- to existing Medicare reimbursement rates. North Dakota has relatively low Medicare reimbursement rates. He said he still favored the establishment of member-run cooperatives instead of a government-run option, but suggested that he could accept a compromise that would allow states to opt in or out of a public option. sundance II ugg boots Republican Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said on Fox that many people would wind up paying more in taxes and health-care insurance premiums under the legislation Democrats are pushing, and that the bill would be a "gateway to the government-run plan." Mr. Conrad quoted congressional budget experts as saying the bill would lower premiums. He said the biggest tax would fall on gold-plated insurance plans. (Article source:http://online.wsj.com/)

-5 Keys to Balance for the Work-at-Home Mom
Phew. I just got breakfast on the table for my preschooler and I can sit down at the computer for a minute. I can finally check my morning email. "Mom!" I run over to the kitchen. Cherrios are all over the floor and now I hear the baby waking up. Little does the customer know on the other end of the computer that this email will have to wait for an unforeseen amount of time today. Oh, the life of the work-at-home mom! Can you relate? Since being in business for myself, I've really had to step back on more than one occasion and re-evaluate where my priorities were. How could I put my family first, yet continue my dreams of building my business? Well, I think I've come up with a few answers that have worked well for me. 1.Sacrifice Means Giving More gucci shoes Because I know that once my children start their day, my day revs up to speed mode the second they wake up. That leaves me virtually no time to work on business. And I've learned that in my situation, that's OK! Isn't that why I chose to be home in the first place? So sometimes that means I have to sacrifice some of my time early in the mornings before the rest of my family wakes up. I can guarantee that if I wake up 2-3 hours before the rest of the alarms go off in the house, those hours will be filled with real, solid work. It's a great way to start my morning, knowing that I was able to answer important emails, make new contacts, write ads, and do other important work that needs to be done. Sacrificing a little sleep means I'm giving more to myself and my family. 2.Turn Off the Computer When my children are home, I've learned that I must turn off the computer. They need to know through my actions that I am there to talk about their day, help with homework, or get them to where they need to go. I find that when the computer is completely off, then I am not tempted to work on it and get involved with business when I have a million more things going on right in front of me. This has not always been an easy thing to do, but my concentrated effort in this has been worth it. ugg boots 3.Set Office Hours for Yourself If you can set some hours for yourself to spend on work, then you can try to forget about it during other hours of the day. Those office hours may include early mornings, time while children are in school or napping, and later in the evenings. If it is important for hours to be during the day, you may want to consider hiring a sitter for those times, or try trading babysitting with a friend or neighbor. It's amazing how much you can really accomplish with your workload when you are given a "chunk" of time all at once to completely immerse yourself in your work¡ without the guilt! 4.Find Support There are so many online services where women who work from home can network with others in their niche, as well as offer support and encouragement. Take the opportunity to find these sites which will help you grow your business, balance your commitments, and love what you do! Joining and participating in forums, reading articles, and learning all that you can in each of these areas, will help you be the best mom and business woman you can be. gucci boots 5.Let Your Children See You Soar! I think it is so important for your children to see mom work hard at obtaining her goals and following her passions. You are setting a fine example to them of hard work and dedication. You are also showing them that they are #1 in your life by the way you prioritize and schedule your work-at-home day. You're going to have your good days and your bad days. Everyone's situation is different, so you must do what works best for you and your family. In the end, you will know what you really want out of life and how to get there. Remember, you don't need to give up your dreams; they just continue to get bigger and better as you balance all the wonderful things in your life! That's it. I had to have it. If I had to go to 10 different stores, line up at 4 AM on "Black Friday" or go online and bid far more than my pocketbook would allow, the hot toy of the season was going to be mine. I pictured my daughter's face opening it up. It would be the picture-perfect moment when at last she would tear open the toy she had begged for all season. A year has now passed. Now what was that toy? I honestly can't remember¡ and I'm sure she can't either. Now rewind to that same Christmas. I also made her a pillow with her own name on it. I do remember carefully selecting the fabrics. I remember feeling so "gitty" when I found just the right color choices that would coordinate with her bedroom so perfectly. Everything that made her room hers, I found! I remember the night I put her to bed and ran to my sewing room so excited to get started on my project. I would hope she'd love it as much as I loved making it for her. Watching her elation as she opened that gift was 10 times more enchanting than seeing her set aside the "had-to-have" toy a few short hours later. She was captivated by the pillow, and happy to ask, "Mommy! Mommy! Did you make this for ME?" gucci sandals The "D-I-Y" phenomenon is here and more and more people are choosing to give handmade gifts to those on their gift-giving lists! So why give handmade this holiday season? 1.Because It's Cost-Effective More often than not, you can make something for less. Of course there are exceptions, but this works well when you have a holiday budget to stick to. I recently made some chalk-board mats for my nieces and nephews. Can you believe I was able to make 9 of them out of 1 yard of fabric? Talk about a bargain! Another friend of mine made purses for all of her girlfriends for their gift exchange. I also like to write down my gift-giving list early, and then think of how I can make several of the same gifts for a group of people- such as favorite teachers. In assembly-line fashion, I can purchase all I need at once, lay out my materials, and thrust into the project at hand. Before you know it, I'm finished with something that was not only enjoyable for me to do, but cost very little in relation to purchasing something at a store. 2.Because It Can Be Personalized When I make a gift for someone, I always keep in mind what is important to them or about them. Whether it's a name on the gift, remembering their favorite colors, or making something of a sentimental nature, a handmade gift is one way of showing you care. Handmade gifts can be very unique and different. Countless times I've been so impressed with those who can create the same project, yet individualize each one to make them special to the one they are giving it to. Whether it's something that has been knit, sewn, painted, or glued, you can make the right gift for just the right person. gucci wedge shoes 3.Because It Can Become a Treasure I still have a crocheted blanket my grandmother made for me when I was a child. Seeing this reminds me of her love and dedication to our family. I can imagine the excitement she must have felt while making it. In retrospect, I don't know if I ever showed my full extent of gratitude when that gift was given. Oftentimes, that may be the case. But looking back, my heart is filled with thanksgiving as I recognize the hours that must have gone into something so extraordinary. Do I still purchase gifts for family and friends from the stores? Of course I do. But while acknowledging that making handmade gifts does take more time, for me giving a gift that is handmade is very fulfilling to both the giver and receiver. Have you ever felt like you are a knotted up pile of yarn, and you just can't seem to get untangled? That is a frustrating feeling, but in this article, I will give you some tips on how to get that "pile" into a nicely organized ball of yarn. It can be hard at first to get your business as well as your life organized, but once you are, you will wonder how you ever got along. • A place for everything/Everything in it's place The best place to start is to get rid of the clutter. Go through all of those old papers and decide what is trash. After you determine what you no longer need, you need to decide how "sensitive" each paper is. With Identity Theft among us, you don't want to just throw away some things. You want to shred them. This would include anything with your social security number on it, or any credit card or bank information. Anything you decide to keep should be filed in a file cabinet. This would include papers such as check stubs, bank statements, tax returns or any other important documents. gucci shoes • Time Management Everyone has a busy life. It would be nice if there were more hours in a day to get everything done, but unfortunately, we only get 24 hours, and we have to sleep. Time management is a very important part of getting organized. You need to decide what has to be done immediately, and what can wait. Once you decide that, you need to figure out how long it will take to complete that task. Try to stick with that time frame, so you are able to move on to the next item on your list. • Daily Planner When you have a busy life, making sure you don't forget something is essential! Keep a daily planner with you all of the time. That way, when you make an appointment, you can write it down right away. Also, you will not forget an upcoming meeting or appointment. A daily planner will also help you plan for the next day. You can sit down, and look at what you have scheduled for the day and then plan when the best time would be to go to the store, or even when you can do something for yourself, such as a manicure. • Delegating ugg boots Cleaning the house and taking care of things in the home should not be the responsibility of just one person. It should be shared by everyone including the children. Creating a chore list will help with the delegating process. This will also help ensure that everything is complete. Organization can be a tough thing to get a hold of, but once you do, you will get so much more accomplished. You will be able to get things done that you never thought you could or would. If you follow these steps you will be well on your way to becoming organized. Good luck! Birthday parties are a lot of fun, especially for children but between planning, hosting and cleanup, it can be quite a chore. Just ask any parent who has done it. Keeping a group of kids entertained for a couple of hours is not always an easy task either. Many parents opt for moving the party outside of their home where they know the kids will have a lot of fun and they won't have to worry about doing any of the work thing. Best of all, there will be no mess to clean up after the party. Make sure you pick a place that is in a controlled environment with staff on hand to take care of everything. Here are some popular places for hosting children's parties: Local Pizza Restaurant gucci boots Kids love pizza - and, well, so do most adults. This is a simple party that would probably include pizza, soda, and cake. You might even be able to get the owner to let you and the kids go back into the kitchen to watch as they make the pizza; kind of a private tour. Some national pizza chains have this option as part of a party plan. Roller Skating Party A roller skating party includes a party room, skate rental, food like pizza, popcorn and soda and usually lasts for approximately two hours. If you supply music on CD the DJ usually will play your child's favorite song and dedicate it to your child for their own special skate. Baseball Game Party Many baseball stadiums have birthday party packages that include a party room, entrance into the game, food, cake and ice cream and may include a special dedication over the loudspeaker for your child or even a chance to come on the field and meet some players or the mascot. Zoo or Aquarium Party This type of party would probably include zoo or aquarium admission, tours, maybe a private session with a trainer, and of course, cake and ice cream. Bowling Party Depending on the age of the child, bowling can be a lot of fun. Many bowling alleys have party plans and with electronic scoring and light-weight bowling balls everyone can join in. This type of party would probably include food, cake, video games, and bowling. Most bowling alleys have party plan packages. gucci sandals Chuck E. Cheese's Restaurants At Chuck E. Cheese's the kids love the food, the characters, and they are lots of fun games to play when they aren't chowing down on pizza and cake. The children even get to sing and dance with Chuck E. Cheese. A tip they suggest: "Birthday parties reserved Monday - Thursday are a great option to avoid some of the crowd, plus we provide unlimited time at your table and extra tokens." Thanks to the Internet, booking a party at places like Chuck E. Cheese's has never been easier. Visit their website, select your location, pick a party package, how many kids you plan to invite, and choose a date and time for the party. Their system will let you know what is available so there is no chance of double booking. Of course, you need to keep in mind the age of your child when planning a birthday party but some of these ideas will get you started. There are many more ways of making your child's birthday party stress-free for you and loads of fun. In the past 20 years, childhood obesity has tripled in teenagers and doubled in younger children. While these statistics may be alarming and cause for concern for parents, they also don’t have to be a permanent reality. Incorporating household chores into a child’s daily routine has many benefits, two of which are contributing to your child’s overall health and to your child’s sense of self-sufficiency and confidence. Unfortunately, however, it was recently reported in the Wall Street Journal that the amount of time children spend doing chores has declined 12% since 1997 and 25% since 1981. gucci wedge shoes The fact is that children’s lives are much different than they were even a decade ago. Today’s children spend on average four hours per day watching TV, that was foreign to children a generation ago. Did you know that children who spend more than two hours per day in front of a screen (TV or computer) are more likely to have an unhealthy diet and are less likely to participate in physical activity? When you factor in homework time, hygiene and meals, there’s no time left for children to participate in beneficial activities like physical activity, time spent with family or in positive contributions to the good of the family. With the rise in suburban sprawl and city living, children no longer benefit from physical activity when the space required to engage in the activities doesn ’t exist. Sprawling metropolises and the conveniences within them make it harder for children to remain active in or around their homes. The simple acts of walking to school, riding a bike, or building a fort, once common activities for children, don’t factor into the modern child’s life. The absence of these activities contribute to the problem of childhood obesity, especially when one considers that it was once common for children to spend all day playing outside and contributing to the maintenance of the family property. gucci pumps Children who choose to spend their extra few minutes of recreational time watching television and playing video games are at greater risk for developing a weight problem, since the minutes add up and eventually turn into hours toward a sedentary lifestyle. Given the lifestyle changes of US children, parents must take steps to add opportunities for activity into their children’s daily lives. Simple steps can be taken to prevent and combat childhood obesity. Like many other things, it starts from within the home. In addition to changing children’s eating habits and attitudes towards physical activity, parents should incorporate vigorous exercise into their children’s daily lives in the form of chores. The benefits of requiring children to do chores doesn’t end with a clean house or even a newfound sense of responsibility – chores can also improve children’s health by keeping them fit, lean and less susceptible to medical complications associated with childhood obesity, including childhood diabetes and pre-diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, bone disorders, gastro-intestinal diseases, high cholesterol, hyperlipidemia, premature puberty and psychological problems. Keeping active by participating in household chores during childhood can also reduce a child’s risk of becoming an overweight adult and worsening pre-existing conditions. gucci velcro shoes It’s clear that scheduling household chores as part of a child’s regular routine is not only an investment in an orderly home and a well-adjusted child, but also an investment in a healthy body that can serve them well into adulthood and beyond. Children deserve every bit of a head start that parents can afford them. Contributing to a healthy lifestyle by requiring chore work is only one of the many ways that parents can condition their children, both mentally and physically, in preparation to live full, adult lives. Proper Business Etiquette When Making Customer Phone Calls
When working from home, you need to realize that there will be times that you will need to make and receive business calls. When you are on the phone with a customer, they deserve your undivided attention. Here are some great tips for you to utilize when making and receiving business phone calls. 1. Introduction. You should always introduce yourself when calling a customer. Let them know right at the beginning of the conversation, who you are and the reason for your phone call. 2. Don't Eat Food. There is nothing more annoying than hearing someone chewing their food. 3. Gum Chewing and Bubble Blowing. You think this would be common sense, but sadly, I often get phone calls and have to listen to the other person chew gum and blow bubbles. 4. Vulgar Language. When making business calls, there is no need to use vulgar and abusive language. If you are in a bad mood, hold off on making your phone call. gucci shoes 5. Screaming Kids. Try to make your business calls when children are napping, in school or when your spouse is home to entertain them. 6. Multi-Tasking. Usually multi-tasking is a 'good thing', but in the case of making business calls, your customers and clients deserve your undivided attention. They don't need to hear you loading your dishwasher, running the vacuum or even going to the bathroom. 7. Know What Time It Is. I don't appreciate getting phone calls after 10:00 pm, so I don't make phone calls late at night. Educate yourself about the different time zones. Try to keep the majority of your business phone calls during normal business hours. 8. Weekends. You need to realize that most people don't want to do business on weekends. If at all possible, make your business phone calls during the weekdays or weekday evenings. If you need to make business calls during the weekend, try to make them on Saturdays. A lot of people will reserve Sunday's for family time. 9. Mobile Phone Calls. You should never conduct business calls while driving, this is an accident waiting to happen. 10. Keep Your Phone Calls Strictly Business. Your customers and clients don't want to hear about your family issues, health problems or if you are having a bad day. Talking about what is going wrong in your personal life, is unprofessional. ugg boots 11. Time. Allow enough time to spend with your customers on the phone. If you only have 5 minutes, but feel the phone call will take longer, than make your phone call at another time. Your customers should never feel 'rushed' when you are answering their questions or assisting them with an order. 12. Be Prepared. You should have everything that you need in front of you when making the phone call. example: product catalogs, order forms, calculator, computer (if necessary), tax charts, pen and other essential business items. It's very frustrating for a customer to be put on hold while you search for the information or to grab business and order taking supplies. When it comes to making business phone calls to customers, I feel these are 12 important tips to remember. When it comes to building a team in Direct Sales, you need to remember that people join Direct Sales Businesses for different reasons. When you are interviewing your next potential team member, it's important to find out how they 'plan' on working the business. Knowing this information before giving them your business opportunity speech, will help you to tailor the conversation in a way that will yield you the best results. Example: Someone who is only interested in joining your business for a personal discount, doesn't need to listen to an hour long speech about home parties, training classes and team building. You might be a career consultant, but that doesn't mean your next team member will be. gucci boots 1. Friends and Family Consultant A Friends and Family Consultant likes the idea of buying products for personal use at consultant discounts. This person sells to neighbors, friends, relatives, etc. through catalog orders. 2. Short-Term Consultant A Short-Term Consultant sells for a short period of time. This person wants to earn a specific amount of money and when they reach their specific goal, they end their business. 3. Seasonal Consultant A Seasonal Consultant loves doing home shows and earning extra money during specific times of the year. This could be around the Holidays or during the summer months. 4. Workplace Consultant A Workplace Consultant works for a company with a lot of employees who love your company's products. This makes it convenient for everyone to order and for the consultant to earn a little extra income. This type of consultant usually only takes orders from her co-workers. 5. Part-Time Consultant A Part-time consultant is someone who consistently works on their business and desires to make a specified monthly income but limits their business hours. 6. Career Consultant A Career Consultant views the business as a viable career and knows it can provide a full-time income. This person pursues management and wants to move up the career ladder. This person works on their business in a consistent and on-going manner and works hard to build to quality team. gucci sandals When it comes to having a successful Direct Sales home business, you should focus on the number 5. Why the number 5? Let's break it down for you. 5 Party Bookings: You should have at least 5 parties booked every month. Keeping your dating calendar full means continued business growth and consistent income for you! The more home parties you have, the more money you will make. 5 Phone Calls Every Day: Grow your business every day by getting on the phone and working your business. These phone calls can be to customers, party hosts, recruit leads or fundraising contacts. The important part is to get on the phone and talk business. 5 Hours Per Week: You need to be working on advertising, marketing and networking your home business. 7 Deadly Sins Of Daycare Website Design
Warning! This article is not for the faint hearted, thinned skinned or easily offended. If you are, you¡¯re probably guilty of one or more of these 7 Deadly Sins. lol Lets face it, first impressions matter. Your website is the online face of your daycare business and it represents YOU. If your website looks as though it was thrown together by your two year old, you are literally shouting to your visitors that you are not professional and that you couldn't care less about quality. You want a high quality user-friendly website that showcases your daycare business in the best light possible. Avoid these 7 common pitfalls like the plague when creating a website for your home daycare business: gucci shoes 1.) Attack Of The Pop-ups - Need I say more? Lol 2.) Banner Overload - If you want to place banners on your website, then do so. Just remember that banners are graphics and can slow down the loading time of your website. Limit them to just a few, and by all means, make sure that they¡®re related to the content of your website. 3.) Free Web Addresses - If your website address is of the free variety and is so long that you have no hope of ever remembering it or fitting it on your business cards, please invest in a domain name and have it redirected to your existing website. They are cheap, easy to set up and give instant credibility to your business. 4.) Free Web Hosting - Don't use a free web host if you want to be taken seriously. Many of the free web hosting services place their own advertisements on your website. This is no small thing. You will be working hard to drive traffic to your website. Do you really want visitors to get distracted upon arriving at your site by ads for another company? 5.) Music - Have you ever visited a website and nearly jumped out of your seat at the unexpected sound of some random nursery rhyme blaring from your speakers? I certainly have on more than one occasion. Endlessly looping audio will drive visitors away, so make sure your visitors have the option to control the volume, stop or pause the music. 6.) Navigation - The layout of your website should be consistent and organized in design throughout all pages. Make sure all your web pages look the same and the websites navigation is in the same location on each page and is easy to find, read and to follow. wholesale gucci shoes 7.) Slow Loading Pages - What do you do when you arrive at a website that takes too long to load? If you're anything like me, you move on. There¡¯s nothing more annoying to a visitor than a slow, unresponsive website. When visitors have to wait more than a few seconds to see any information, guess what? They get impatient and simply move on, never to return. Make sure that your images are properly compressed so that the download time is not compromised due to large images. I've had a chance to witness the good, the bad, the ugly, and the really ugly when it comes to website design in the home daycare community and one thing I know for sure is that less is truly more . So you've decided to take your daycare business online with a brand new flashy website decked out with all the latest bells and whistles. Now you're probably thinking to yourself... "I'm in business now!", right? Well... not exactly. You're now faced with the challenge of getting "traffic" to your website. This is critical to the online success of your business. You can have a website that holds the key to eternal youth, but without any traffic, it's useless. One of the easiest and most effective ways to get targeted traffic to your website is by submitting it to online daycare directories. A daycare directory acts as an organized listing of daycare provider websites usually grouped by city, county, state, etc. Many of which offer free listings, while some may require a small monthly or annual fee. gucci boots Many don't realize just how valuable online daycare directories truly are. They are especially useful because they're smaller and more focused when compared to a general directory such as Yahoo. You get your business in front of parents that are actively searching specifically for daycare services and these are the types of highly targeted web visitors that you want. Not only do online daycare directories help potential clients find your website, but they also make it easy for search engine spiders to find you which in tern gets you higher search engine rankings (more backlinks = higher search engine ranking & page rank). Submitting your business to online daycare directories is an excellent way to increase targeted traffic to your website. In fact, taking advantage of online daycare directories submissions should be part of your overall marketing strategy. By submitting your website to the many online daycare directories out there, you can give yourself an edge on the competition. And in today's marketplace, you need every bit of edge that you can get. gucci sandals So what are you waiting for? Bring a clipboard and pen so you can jot down notes and ideas before they vacate your head (as they do mine). Ask questions, listen and observe. Notice daily routines, room layout and equipment, methods for dealing with behaviours, staff and child interaction, health and safety procedures, hygiene practices, peruse paperwork (ask for copies of the paperwork to help guide you when formulating your own). Find about the best methods of advertising, what suppliers you should use and the range of fees locally. Try to speak with the owner or manager, the staff and the cook and get a feel for each unique role. Don't just ask them what they do but also ask for their opinion on how things could be better. You will gain an immense wealth of practical knowledge simply by asking these open questions. These are just three steps you can take in pursuit of your dream seeing them through to completion will give you a fantastic headstart in terms of researching your business. Your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve your vision will peak and you will be propelled into further positive action. So, start that research and make that dream a reality. gucci wedge shoes Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

Machine Embroidery Designs Enhance Wearables & Crafts
Has the machine embroidery bug bitten you yet? Do you want to get into machine embroidery, but just don¡¯t know where to start? Do you wonder if the investment is worth it? About four years ago, I purchased my first embroidery machine, and I have been hooked to the art ever since. I¡¯ve slowly built a library of designs and I¡¯ ve learned how to hoop, stabilize, and choose the right thread! I started by researching the vast array of embroidery machines available, many of which also do standard sewing. Machines are priced anywhere from $400 up to many thousands. Search the Internet or go to your local Sew Vac or fabric store for a demonstration! Choose a machine based upon how much embroidery you want to do and what your budget will allow. gucci shoes To tell the truth, I felt weird about using machine embroidery at first. I wanted to be the designer and I didn¡¯t want to depend upon someone else¡¯s creativity to make my work look beautiful. Then, I discovered that I had lots of choices and I couldn¡¯t resist the designs that are available. I found quilt embroideries that you can use to quilt blocks in the hoop and get better results than using free-motion or a long arm machine. I found all sorts of vintage looks in redwork, bluework, and even lace that you embroider right on a dissolvable stabilizer in the thread color that matches your project best. Of course there are many modern detailed designs in every theme from babies and kids to holidays and weddings. Embroidery designs are ¡°digitized¡± from artwork. While most sites sell artwork that can be picked up by many digitizers, some sites selling machine embroidery files such as SWAK Embroidery and You Can Make This also have designs from original hand-drawn art. This means that those designs can only be purchased from those sites and therefore, you won¡¯t see them just anywhere. wholesale gucci shoes One great thing about embroidery designs is that they have a color palette selected for you in advance, but you can also adjust the colors to your specifications by choosing from color families and tones. Filled designs are those made up of all embroidered stitches. Appliqu¨¦ designs allow you to choose fun fabrics to add your own artistic expression to the finished product. If you make some cute cropped pants, but need a matching shirt, find an appliqu¨¦ design for a tee shirt and use the fabric from the pants in the appliqu¨¦ to add just the right matching touch. Some designs are really versatile in that a change of thread color can make the design work for any occasion. Take a balloon design and use thread in your child¡¯s favorite colors. Makes realistic looking oak leaves in any color-palette from spring yellows and greens to fall reds, browns, and oranges. Change the colors in a cute cheerleader design or collegiate alphabet to match your school colors. Even merge two designs or add lettering to a design to make it yours, using your embroidery machine or digitizing software. gucci boots Is it worth the investment? Definitely! What could be better than to be able to make a professional looking embroidery design either on ready-to-wear or hand sewn clothing, quilts, or other projects. Even create a business for yourself by creating embroidered items for others! Your sewing or crafting room should reflect the style and comfort you put into your creations. When your space is organized and decorated to your taste, it is an oasis you look forward to, rather than another room that needs care. Keep in mind that organization doesn¡¯t have to be expensive or elaborate. You might even have some items around the house to help you out! 1.Display your favorite colors in your room using paint, simple curtains, artwork, and colorful crafting supplies such as ribbons, thread spools, and fabrics, as your d¨¦cor. 2.Baskets make great scrap catchers. I keep one large basket next to my cutting table for usable scraps of fabric to go through later. I keep another next to my sewing machine with smaller scraps for test stitching. A third holds my stash finds¡ªfat quarters that I couldn¡¯t pass up, remnants, and bit of lace that I¡¯ve picked up. Dress your basket with a bow made from a scrap of your favorite fabric or ribbon. 3.Use pretty pottery vases for things like craft sticks, marking tools, and tall scissors. Vintage tea cups make darling containers for pins or needles. Great for small appliqu¨¦s, buttons, snaps, and other small notions, cookie or popcorn tins are always around, so put them to good use! gucci sandals 4.A clean pad of decorative note paper is always useful to jot down notes to yourself as you craft. This allows you to clear your mind to concentrate on the task you¡¯re doing. 5.Use a decorative key hook board to hang your small scissors so you can find them. Hanging also preserves the sharp points on your cutting tools. 6.A clean pad of decorative note paper is always useful to jot down notes to yourself as you craft. This allows you to clear your mind to concentrate on the task you¡¯re doing. 7.Use a decorative key hook board to hang your small scissors so you can find them. Hanging also preserves the sharp points on your cutting tools. 8.Use those slightly worn gift bags (the ones you can¡¯t bear to throw away, but can¡¯t re-give to someone else!) to hold projects-in-progress. Hang them from a hanger on the rod in the closet. 9.Keep a pretty tea tray on your desk for the latest copies of fabric catalogues and quilting magazines. Go through the stack monthly when you pay your bills and file or throw away old copies. gucci wedge shoes 10.Hang a mirror somewhere in your sewing room where you can catch a glimpse of yourself at your craft. Mirrors add light and space, and seeing yourself doing what you love will encourage you to do more of it! 11.Put a soft, comfortable chair in the corner of your craft space alongside a small table or even a hatbox so that you can sit down to read or hand-sew with a cup of tea. This inviting nook will add an element of comfort to your workspace. Use some simple things around the house to add beautiful organizational elements, and make your craft or sewing space a place you love! Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

Praying for Your Clients and Colleagues
Possibly the most effective way to share God¡¯s love through your home business is by doing something your clients and colleagues might never see you do. It won't happen in an email, a newsletter, a phone call, or at your next meeting. It won't show up on your timesheet, your FAQ page, or your business proposal. wholesale gucci shoes Your clients and others you work with may never even know you do this for them. If they did know, they might tell you not to bother ¨C you're just wasting your time. In fact, they might even ask you to stop. However, the results of this one action could have a dramatic impact on their lives and businesses. You might have guessed that I'm talking about prayer. I'm one of those people who pray about everything ¨C small or big. I pray I'll find a parking stall in a busy lot. I ask for enough space to merge my minivan into a heavy lane of traffic. I pray for the success of my business, prosperity for my family, and that my children will learn to love Jesus as passionately as I do. Every day I pray that my life will be a blessing to others. gucci shoes I believe the Bible when it says "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (John 5:16) I know it's true. I've seen the life-changing power of prayer in my own life and in the lives of those close to me. Praying for my own needs is easy. Praying for others, especially others I don¡¯t know well, is a little more difficult. Their needs just aren't as obvious to me. Sometimes, I don¡¯t know exactly how to pray for them. I'll probably never know what results my prayers had in their lives. So why bother? One event in my life has convinced me that, in spite of my own doubts and selfishness, it is definitely worth my time and energy to pray for those I meet in my business. Even though I don't know exactly what to pray, and I may never know what results my prayers had, it doesn¡¯t make those prayers any less effective. A few years ago, a close family member was hospitalized with a chronic illness. He spent almost a full year in one of our local hospitals. Because of space and staff shortages, he was moved to different wards several times. One ward stood out from all the others. It was as old as the rest of the building. It had the same paint, but its walls were a little brighter; same windows, but more light; same ventilation system, but fresher air. We were fighting the same disease, and for some inexplicable reason, we felt more peace while we were on this ward. My family didn't understand how one part of the hospital could be so different from all the rest until we met the Patient Care Manager for this ward. She told us she began each day by praying for every single patient in that ward by name. gucci boots "Do you know how long that takes?" she laughed. Probably a really long time. But I was very grateful she took that time each morning. Suddenly the cleaner air, the brighter rooms, and the indescribable peace all made sense to me. I believe it was her prayers that made that difference and made her ward a more pleasant place to be. She couldn't possibly have known the difference her prayers made in her patients' lives while they were in her care and after they went home, but she was convinced it made a difference all the same. And she was right. Your prayers can make a difference in the lives of your clients and business colleagues as well. If you're not sure how to start praying for them, here's a quick guide. Begin by making a list of all your current clients and people you regularly have contact with for your business. If that's too long of a list to start with, break it down into smaller lists so you can pray for one list of names each day. Set aside time each day to pray for each name on your list. Early morning works best for my prayer time, before the kids get up and I get involved in my business day. Choose a time that works with your schedule. You may need to get up a bit earlier or go to bed a bit later to fit it in. Here are some ways you can pray for those on your list. Ask God to reveal any other ways He would like you to pray for them. gucci sandals * The success of their business * That they will experience God's love that day * Their, and their family's safety * That they will develop their own personal relationship with Jesus, if they haven't already Do I know how much time this takes? Yes, I do. But I also know it's time well spent. The prayer of a righteous work-at-home-mom is powerful and effective. Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

Women are often hesitant to assign a fair value to what they sell or do. Pricing is a very important part of a business, especially when you are dealing with goods and services. Running an at-home business requires prudence with pricing for the simple fact you probably do most of your sales online or through mailings. Retaining customers is imperative, but when it comes to pricing, you first need to know the type of customer you are attracting. About.com categorizes customers into a few basic sub-groups: -Economical Shoppers. These are the women who dig through piles of clothes and discount items in order to find the perfect sale. Or they get to the store at 5 a.m. for the "early bird specials" during the holidays. gucci shoes -Status-oriented Shoppers. This type of shopper could care less if she pays one dollar or a thousand dollars for a pair of pajamas, just as long as they are a particular brand or from a particular store. -Convenience-oriented Shoppers. This woman is on a schedule, and she is willing to pay extra for convenience. -Assortment-oriented Shoppers. This could classify a majority of women, especially with the rise of major department stores and shopping centers. These shoppers are the one-stop-shop kind of ladies. -Personalizing Shoppers. At-home businesses and boutiques focus on these shoppers because the women like to spend money at places where they know the person or feel as if they know the owner. Once you know the kind of customer your at-home business attracts, setting a price for your product or service can be a little easier. There are some essential steps to follow when setting prices for your business, and powerhomebiz.com sums them up nicely in seven easy steps. Step One: Keep your prices realistic. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to follow the crowd when setting your prices. Your business has certain cost structures and expenses to meet, and your pricing should reflect this. gucci boots Step Two: Cover all your costs. Make sure when you set prices that you are meeting overhead. Your pricing should also reflect what you paid to get the merchandise in the first place. Your goal is to hit the middle line and not set your prices so high that you can't meet your expenses, or too low and you can't cover the initial cost of the product. Step Three: Keep in line with inflation. Inflation doesn't just affect the housing market. It plays a role in your business too. Keep your prices in check with inflation because as it rises, what you pay to make or sell a product will also rise. This may require you to raise the cost of your product once a year, but explain the rise in pricing to customers. Step Four: Don't forget to factor in salary. This is critical, so pay close attention! Your efforts with an at-home business need to be recognized in your salary. So price your items with this in mind. You are the one keeping the business going, right? Well, don't forget to pay the hand that rocks the cradle. Step Five: Low pricing won't always bring in sales. Having your prices set too low doesn't always mean you will attract more customers. This goes back to knowing your clientele. There are shoppers out there who pay extra money when they know they are getting an exclusive or high-quality product. Step Six: Price low, but keep it smart. If you're just starting out with your at-home business, having a solid, but low price can be a prudent way to get customers knocking down the door. Just bare in mind you are shooting for repeat customers and if you need to raise prices later on, you might loose clientele. So be smart if you feel you must start low and make sure you customers know the product is quality. men gucci slip-on shoes Step Seven: Use Discounts Cautiously. This last step is important to follow because at some point in your business you will need to hold a sale or special discount. Discounts are great to use when you're trying to get rid of bulk items or out-dated merchandise. It is also nice to offer discounts for bulk purchases or large orders by your customers. And when sales are down, using the discount can help pick things up a bit. Pricing might seem as intimidating as purchasing a three-thousand dollar Waterford vase, but it's really a sheep in wolf's clothing. You just have to know your financial status and where you want the business to go before setting a price for your goods and services. As your business grows and prospers, your pricing will move right along too. gucci sandals Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

The Faith Versus Fear Mindset
Several years ago, I went skydiving. Obviously falling out of a plane 10,000+ feet above ground isn¡¯t the safest thing you can do. To limit their liability and make sure everyone understood the waiver we were required to sign, skydiving companies have participants sit through an hour long presentation that details the things that can go wrong with your parachute and possible (but not probable) ways to fix those while plummeting to the ground at warp speed. A few people decided to opt out of the jump after the presentation. They allowed fear to drive their decision. I was scared, but decided to jump having faith that my parachute was packed correctly and I would make it to the ground safely. gucci shoes The experience was exhilarating and those who stayed on the ground wanted to know how it was. I found it difficult to describe the rollercoaster of emotion that wound through me on the plane ride up, while standing at the end of the plane with my toes over the edge, the jumping, the free falling, the yank back up when the air caught the parachute and then the peaceful and relaxed floating. But even harder to describe was the leap I made inside myself about being able to do anything. By making a faith-based decision, I allowed myself to grow from experience. Those who made the fear-based decision felt nothing but fear. Being a new business owner is a lot like skydiving in the sense that you are taking calculated risks daily that run you through a flurry of emotions before landing on the ground or getting to the outcome. Resilience is needed to weather these frequent storms. Unfortunately, I am currently seeing a lot more fear-based decision making with some of my clients and other small business owners. men gucci slip-on shoes It seems that economic conditions and money worries have prompted some business owners to forget their vision, release their commitment to success and make decisions to cut resources, scale back on assistance and abandon marketing campaigns. In their minds, they are making these decisions to help the business. In reality, these fear-based decisions will keep their businesses and them from growing. This happens when a business owner makes decisions based on fear: they isolate themselves, close themselves off to opportunities and energetically ¡°give-up¡± doing what is necessary to succeed. Many of them justify firing their support staff including assistants, bookkeepers and coaches¡ªthe very resources that are supporting the business growth and making it possible for them to focus on their core brilliance. When a small business owner removes their support systems they put themselves in a backwards position which is exactly the opposite of where you need to be to make progress. The biggest reason small business owners sabotage themselves this way is because it¡¯s uncomfortable to operate in faith. It¡¯s scary to trust in yourself. It feels hard to have to make it happen yourself. However, if you really want to be a small business owner for the long haul, you must be able to feel the fear and act anyway. Those who aren¡¯t resilient and make faith-based decisions fade away within the first year or two of business by tucking in their head and sending out resumes to get back into corporate. In contrast, I have witnessed several of my clients, some who also had money concerns make faith-based decisions, choosing to invest in themselves and their businesses trusting the outcome will serve them and it¡¯s not always the way they thought it would be, but in every case good resulted. gucci sandals Faith is an essential characteristic for success when you own your own business. You can¡¯t always see around the corner or know how sales will go the next month or the next, but having faith will put you in a place of being willing to receive, open to opportunities and on a path of commitment to doing everything you can and must do to make your business a success. I have been successfully working from home for the past 22 years. During those years, I have faced many challenges being a work at home mom. One of the biggest challenges has been getting my family and friends to take my home business seriously. People often have the misconception that since you work from home, you can drop what you are doing on a moments notice and do something for them. These people can include your spouse, children, other family members, friends, schools and the neighbors. During the early years, it was a struggle for me to get others to realize that I have certain business hours that I work. People would get upset that I wouldn't take their personal chit chat phone calls, run errands for them, watch their children and other personal requests. To solve this problem, I drafted up a personal letter that I printed out and gave to all of my family and friends. In this letter I stated what my home business was and what my working hours would be. I also clearly pointed out...that I would not be accepting personal chit chat phone calls, answering personal emails or doing any personal errands or activities, during my business working hours. I was really nervous how this letter would be received by my family and friends, but after a week...the feedback I got in return was supportive. This letter opened up a serious discussion with them which in turn has benefited me. gucci boots Since publishing my letter to my family and friends, they now respect my work at home business hours. I no longer get requests to walk their dogs, baby sit their kids and other personal errand type of requests. If you are having a hard time keeping and sticking to a home business working schedule, I highly recommend that you sit down and write a letter to all of your family and friends. It has really helped to cut down all of the personal interruptions that I used to receive. I can now stay on track and accomplish all of my business tasks.
